Re: GizmoDinDin at Hyland's on 6/2?
Thu, May 26, 2005 - 4:09 PMyou *would* start pressuring me, wouldn't ya? ;)
i think i could "handle" a lot of people at once; and i could probably seat 8 people on sofa / chairs for dinner. so let's say 10 people. and karen and jennifer have to come or it's off.
only thing is, this is going to be the night after the dorkbot thang -- i wonder if folks is gonna be too pooped?
yes, potluck; somewhat coordinated if possible.
7:00-10:00 (or earlier if we go somewhere); i have to end on the early side, as i wake up at the ungodly hour of 5:20am...
i am accepting volunteers to help schlep the bbq up from the garage and fire it up; otherwise i'll do something on the stove... bbq volunteer would come over earlier...

Thu, May 26, 2005 - 5:01 PMi'll be there -- i dont think i'll be too pooped. i just hope dorkbot goes well without it getting cancelled or something.
if it's easier, lets keep it simple, dont worry about the bbq, we should just schlep potluck over, yes? i wont be able to bring a gizmo this time around though :(
thanks for hosting! viva la casa hyland! -

Re: GizmoDinDin at Hyland's on 6/2?
Thu, May 26, 2005 - 5:57 PMOMG...Karen AND Jennifer??????
I'll see it when I believe it!
And, yea, no bbq - let's keep it super simple. Maybe even BYOD, with sumthin' to share IF you feel so inclined? That keeps it way simple.
And don't hippy pies smell funny? Like patchouli or something.
I'll bring a full fat, butter laden, processed sugar laden, lard laden pie of some sort...just to keep balance in the universe ;-)

Thu, May 26, 2005 - 9:45 PMdang it - i always reply to the wrong post... pies of any varieties are dandy. all i can tell you at this point is that i am going to make a big pot of brown/wild rice. it's yummy.
i think i'll make something easy like chili... con carne? vegetarian? speak up! :) -

Re: GizmoDinDin at Hyland's on 6/2?
Mon, May 30, 2005 - 6:20 PMok, this is TOTALLY painful, but i have to cancel this week... :(
i had sort of a "come to jesus" about all of my non-work related committments -- and i realize that i MUST MUST MUST focus on work these next few weeks -- possibly even months... i'm sorry to do this... i was SO looking forward to spending QT time with you all: jennifer, karen, and christopher.
once my new career as a real estate mogul is in full force effect, i'll reschedule -- and i hope that you'll all still come!

Mon, May 30, 2005 - 6:23 PMhey mogul!!! Buy us a building to turn into the gizmologists clubhouse and we'll forgive you. ;-)
So, hey all, I'll start a new thread. Does that night still work for people? I'll check to see if there's a room at the crucible that's open, otherwise any ideas?
